Compression springs supply the pressure to engage the belt and they determine the rate at which the CVT transmission changes from low to high gear. For example a 1000rpm spring will go into a higher gear faster than a 2000rpm spring. Adjusting this spring allows you to tune your transmission to your riding weight, conditions, and level of engine tune.
